Every child is different, but on average, most families visit for 2-3 hours. The Center is quite large and is designed for audiences of all ages so that children can learn something new with each visit. The best way to experience the Center is to take your child’s lead, allowing them the opportunity for purposeful play in an area for as long as they choose to. As children mature and acquire new skills they will learn something new with each visit.
Unfortunately strollers are not allowed in the Center’s exhibit galleries to allow for an unobstructed play space for the children. We have a stroller parking area in our lobby. If you do not have a baby carrier we can loan you one at the front desk. If you require special accommodations please inquire at our front desk.
All children must be accompanied by an adult in the ratio of 1 adult for every 4 children. This is for the safety and supervision of the child.
The Center has a Kids Cafe that offers an assortment of child friendly menu options. If you would prefer to bring your own snack or lunch you are welcome to enjoy those outside on our lanai or in the park. Please note that seating in the Kids Cafe is reserved for customers who make a purchase in the cafe. To help keep the Center clean, food and drinks are not allowed in the Center’s exhibit galleries or lobby areas.
You can apply your daily admission towards a membership on the same day as your visit. Just stop by our reception desk before you leave.

All exhibits and props are cleaned at the end of each day, but our staff are regularly cleaning touches items throughout the entire day. If you find a prop that needs cleaning, please let a staff member know.
The Discovery Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Grants and donations help us cover the Center’s daily operating expenses. At this time, we are unable to make donations to other charities. With our school visit program, we offer heavily subsidized admission through donations when possible.
We do sell gift cards for general admission as well as memberships to the Center. Please stop by the Center or call us at 524-5437.
Any guest exhibiting cold or flu like symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea or excessive coughing/runny nose will not be permitted until they are symptom free for 24 hours. The Center reserves the right to request visitors to leave the Center or a program if you or your child is sick.
