Hawaii Children's Discovery Center

The Hawaii Children's Discovery Center is a private, non-profit organization. Operating support comes from ticket sales, workshops and programs, birthday parties, facility rentals, revenue from the Center's gift shop "Just For You, Kid!" and from special event fundraising.

Donations from individuals, gifts and grants, and in-kind contributions are necessary to help us fund operations and programs. It is through the very generous support of our donors that the Center is now a reality.

We are working to complete our "Once Upon A Dream" capital campaign to raise the final $2 million that is needed for start-up operations and to begin to build an endowment. These funds are necessary to help us sustain facility operations, to hire and train staff, and to fund our educational programs. • Children's Rainbow Wall

Donors who participate in our Children's Rainbow Wall Campaign will contribute to a very special feature in our Welcome Court. For each contribution of $250, a picture you send to us of a child who is special to you will become a part of our "Rainbow Wall." The faces of these children will make up a special rainbow celebrating our keiki as the future and promise of our State . . . truly Hawaii's Rainbow Connection to the World!

School Group Discovery Visit Program
An important resource for our school children

The Children's Discovery Center's School Group Discovery Program serves close to ten thousand youngsters from schools all over the State of Hawaii each year. Contributions and grants help us subsidize the cost of these visits, and we are grateful for the help we receive from donors in support of this important program.

A $25,000 grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation enabled us to serve thousands of children through our school prgrams. Thank you also to the Macy's Foundation, Friends of Hawaii Charities, the Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association's Visitor Charity Walk, and the Julia Temple Davis Brown Foundation for their support!

Thanks to the support of many individuals, the generosity of our local foundations, and our wonderful corporate partners, Hawaii's children can look forward to a better and brighter tomorrow!

Our Corporate Sponsorship Program is designed to strengthen our partnerships with the community. Contributions made through this program go to enhancing our exhibits, educational programming, and staff training. Support for this program helps the Center maintain a "world class," hands-on learning environment for the young and "young-at-heart."
