Celebrate the arrival of Spring at home with these fun yet simple activities!

Apple Prints

Materials:

1. Apples
2. Knife
3. Paper
4. Tempera Paint

What to do: |

1. Take your apple and cut it in half. Take a look at the "star" in the center.
2. Dip the apple half in the paint and stamp it on your piece of paper. What print do you think it will leave behind?

Bagel Bird Feeder

 

Materials:

1. Bagel
2. Peanut Butter
3. Bird Seed
4. Yarn or String

What to do:

1. Spread peanut butter on a bagel.
2. Sprinkle bird seed all over the bagel.
3. Attach a piece of yarn and hang your bird feeder outside

Vegetable and Flower Planting

Materials:

1. Package of seeds
2. soil
3. Small pot or cup
4. Popsicle stick

What to do:

1. Think of a plant that you would like to grow and pick up a package of seeds at your local grocery or gardening shop.
2. Pore some soil into your cup or pot until it is almost full. Next, place a few seeds into the cup. Pour the remaining soil into the cup until it is full.
3. Write the type of plant you are growing onto the popsicle stick and stick it in the cup. Water your plant daily and watch it grow!

Going on a Bug Hunt!

Materials:

1. Cup/bug cage
2. Magnifying glass

What to do:

1. Spring is a great time to explore outdoors. Take your supplies and head outside to see what you can find. If you look under the rocks or in the grass you are sure to find some creepy crawly critters.
