Discovery Visit This is a facilitated, self-guided exploration of the Center's exhibit galleries. The Discovery Visit is designed to give students an overview of the Children's Discovery Center and a sampling of the many exhibits and activities. Our interactive exhibits are designed to stimulate curiosity and to help children develop problem solving skills. Staff and volunteers are available to assist with your group's visit. Reservations: Reservations can only be made by the teacher of the class attending. Only groups with advance reservations will receive a school group rate. Advance reservations must be made at least four weeks prior to your visit. A non-refundable deposit of 50% or $50, whichever is less, is require to secure your reservation. Payment may be cash or check. Upon receipt of your deposit, a confirmation and informational packet will be sent to you. Call 522-8911 to make your school group reservations. Please have the following information when you call: 1. Date and time of visit (please have an alternate date ready) 2. Number of children, age or grade level of children 3. School name, contact person, and phone number Visit Times: 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Group Admission Fees: All members of the attending school group will be charged a special rate of $5 per person. This applies to children, teachers and other adult supervisors. In order to qualify for our school group rate of $5.00 per person, a school must be a state licensed pre school, a military licensed child development center, or a private school that is licensed by the Hawaii Council of Private Schools. A proof of license may be requested when making your reservation deposit of $50.00. Center memberships or discount passes may not be applied to a school group visit as this is a special group rate. Parking: Buses may drop off groups in the designated disembarking area in front of the Center. Buses may park in the Kakaako Waterfront Park parking lot. Supervisors or parents in private cars may also park in the parking lot.
